Samsung Gear S3 Frontier Smartwatch Vs Apple Watch Series 4 REVIEW
Smartwatches have undoubtedly become most desirable watches over other variations of timepiece because of its awesome features like connectivity, access to the Internet, GPS navigation, health benefits et al. Samsung Gear S3 Frontier and Apple Series 4 are samples of high-performance digital wristwatches manufactured by two different giant technology companies; Samsung and Apple. Samsung Gear 3 frontier was launched in November 2016 while the Apple watch series 4 was launched in September 2018.
Both smartwatches have visibly different designs. Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch is slickly designed with gorilla glass front whereas the Apple Series 4 has Sapphire crystal glass. With a stainless steel case and a rotational bezel which allows the user to scroll effortlessly through the operating system, the Samsung S3 looks more glamorous than the Apple series. It weighs 63g (2.2 ounces without the band) and measures 46 x 49 millimetres (1.8 x 1.9 inches) making it bigger and heavier than the Apple Watch. Apple’s series 4 design is convenient and more rectangular with matching touchscreen, body dimension of 44 x 38 x 10.7 mm (1.73 x 1.50 x 0.42 in), 48 g (1.69 oz) weight.
The Samsung S3 has a circular 1.3-inch super AMOLED capacity touchscreen which sparkles brilliantly during the day or at night time. It portrays very clear and vivid images with 360×360 pixels. You would possibly need to worry about your battery life if you are the type that prefers the screen to be constantly on. With the Apple Watch Series 4, you are getting a beautiful new display which is made possible by a larger LTPO OLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 368 x 448 on the 44mm model, and 324 x 394 on the 40mm version. Its square sides make it easier for you to read texts and interact with most Apps.
STORAGE AND BATTERY CAPACITY
There is no provision for an external storage slot in both smartwatches. But with 16GB and 1GB internal memory, Apple series 4 beat Samsung Gear S3 over its 4GB and 768MB RAM internal memory. When it comes to battery life, Samsung S3 is more durable. It has a non-removable Li-ion 380mAh battery which lasts for up to 72 hours either on 2G or 3G usage. Apple’s series 4 has a shorter battery life span of about 18 hours (mixed usage), this is because of its non-removable Li-Ion 292mAh battery. They both support wireless charging.
HEALTH AND FITNESS FEATURES
Each of the two digital timepieces features heart rate monitor, accelerator, and barometer. The Apple series watch placed a stronger focus on health with its ECG sensor that tracks the user’s heart 24/7 with maximum accuracy, this earned its certification from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It also has a workout app that effectively tracks sporting activities. However, the Samsung S3 has limited Apps for health, fitness and other events.
